美国国立卫生研究院招聘生物信息学和基因调控博士后
A postdoctoral position is available in the research group of Dr. Ivan Ovcharenko at the National Center for Biotechnology Information, National Institutes of Health (NIH). Current research projects include computational studies of epigenetic and sequence-based mechanisms of gene regulation. Our group is developing probabilistic and comparative genomics approaches to decipher the regulatory landscape of the human genome. By combining next generation sequencing data with a large body of experimental enhancer characterization, our computational approaches target transcriptional mechanisms of tissue-specific regulatory signals and cell-type differences in gene regulation taking place within a developing organ/tissue. In addition, we are currently integrating genotype-phenotype clinical studies with modeling of tissue-specific regulatory elements to accurately describe mechanisms of disease-causal variation in gene regulatory elements.
Candidates with a PhD in computational biology/bioinformatics or a related discipline and no more than 5 years of prior postdoctoral training will be considered. Excellent programming and genome data analysis skills are necessary. Hands-on knowledge of statistical tools, genome databases, and comparative genomics approaches is desirable.
This position is supported by the Intramural NIH Research Program and includes stable funding, outstanding benefits and compensation. NIH is an Equal Opportunity Employer and encourages applications from women and minorities.
