Postdoctoral Fellowship
The laboratory of Dr. Hee Cheol Cho, PhD, at the Cedars-Sinai Heart Institute in Los Angeles has an opening for a postdoctoral fellowship to pursue basic and translational studies of cardiac development. The goal of this NIH-funded research is to identify key regulatory components of the pacemaker cell specification. The knowledge gained will be translated to develop novel biological therapies for cardiac arrhythmias.
Candidates with the following experience are encouraged to apply: cellular electrophysiology, small animal models of arrhythmia, or whole-heart electrophysiology with optical mapping. Candidates with thorough experience in biophysical aspects of cardiac differentiation of human ESCs/iPSCs, but without the relevant experience in electrophysiology, will also be considered. Experience in viral vector technology for transgene expression as well as small RNA methods will be an asset.
Background in chemistry, biophysics, or biomedical engineering is preferred. The successful candidate will be highly motivated and well-organized. Please submit a CV and contact information of 2-3 referees to: channe.edwards@cshs.org
