Our broad goal is to develop recipes toward “force-free” control of matter in solution – from proteins and biological macromolecules like viruses and DNA, to inorganic entities displaying interesting photonic properties. To this end, we use micro- and nanofluidic systems as an experimental platform to probe interparticle interactions using a variety of optical microscopy methods.
We have an opening for a postdoc with a strong background in experimental optics – in particular, optical microscopy & imaging, nanoparticle tracking and spectroscopy – and an interest in developing and applying optical methods to problems in soft matter physics. Our activities are housed both at ETH Zurich and University of Zurich and my group will give you the opportunity to develop experimental and theoretical skills in cutting edge problems in soft matter research. Zurich offers a vibrant atmosphere for research and excellent employment conditions.
