芬兰阿尔托大学招收复杂网络博士后
Both positions are for the 4-year research project "Temporal networks of human interactions", funded by the Academy of Finland. We will apply the tools of network theory to study how humans communicate and interact via electronic means, from mobile telephone calls to emails, and develop new methods and tools as we go. The candidate profiles we are looking for are self-motivated, innovative research scientists who feel at home in an interdisciplinary research environment. The project is led by Prof. Jari Saramäki (jari.saramaki@aalto.fi).
The successful applicants will be based on the main campus of Aalto University in Espoo, Finland, 10 km from the center of Helsinki. The postdoc will be hired for 2 years, and the PhD student is expected to finish his/her degree in 4 years. The positions are available to start immediately.
Qualifications and skills:
Postdoc:
- A PhD degree in physics, applied maths, computer science, quantitative social science or another relevant discipline
- Proven record of ability in carrying out high-quality research
- Some knowledge of complex networks is preferred
- Good programming skills (e.g. Python/C/C++)
- Experience in data analysis and dealing with empirical data
- Good command of English language
- Good oral and written communication skills
Doctoral student:
- A MSc degree with good grades in physics, applied maths, computer science, quantitative social science or another relevant discipline
- Good programming skills (e.g. Python/C/C++)
- Experience in data analysis and dealing with empirical data
- Good command of English language
- Good oral and written communication skills
