Fully funded postdoctoral positions are available immediately at the Mount Sinai School of Medicine in New York City. Our laboratory is utilizing state-of-the-art technologies including mouse genetics, in vitro ES cell differentiation, functional genomics, and cardiac electrophysiology to understand the roles of transcription factors and epigenetic regulators in regulating heart development and in cardiovascular pathogenesis. Please see our publications for further information: Cell 129:303-17 (2007); Trends Biochem Sci. 32:189-97 (2007); Nature 436:214-220 (2005). Recently we have made very exciting progress on understanding the development and function of the cardiac conduction system, so we want to have new talented postdocs to join our team to move those promising projects forward faster.

Mount Sinai School of Medicine is among the top 20 medical schools. As a leader in translational research, the School ranked 16th among all medical schools in total NIH funding in 2011. Our lab is in the Center for Molecular Cardiology of the Child Health and Development Institute (CHDI), which will be moving into the brand new Center for Science & Medicine building this year (http://www.mssm.edu/research/institutes/child-health-and-development-institute). As a postdoctoral member, you will have various opportunities to scientifically interact with faculty members in human genetics, cardiac electrophysiology, adult cardiology, systems biology, and developmental biology. Mount Sinai provides exceptional opportunities for intellectual, personal, and professional growth. The Mount Sinai School of Medicine is on the Upper East Side of Manhattan, New York City. Postdoctoral fellows will be eligible for subsidized school housing near the medical center.

The candidate should be a recent PhD graduate with a strong publication record. He/she should be highly self-motivated, energetic, and work efficiently.
