We advertise an open postdoc position within of the Department of Medical Chemistry and Biochemistry, the Faculty of Medicine and Dentistry, Palacky University. The position will be funded for 30 months starting on Jan 1, 2013 until June 30, 2015, with a possibility to continue under a follow-up research project.
Requirements:
•The successful candidate must have received their Ph.D in a branch of bio-medical sciences after March 28, 2008,
•they must have a strong background in biochemistry, analytical chemistry and/or related disciplines (genetics, molecular biology, laboratory medicine) demonstrated through own peer-reviewed publications (publications represent the main selection criterion),
•a good command of English is required; the candidate is expected to run seminars on their methodologies and research application for Ph.D students,
•scientific motivation, innovative thinking, perseverance and ability to work on parallel tasks shall be appreciated.
Contract:
•Employer: Palacký University Olomouc, CZ (www.upol.cz)
•Starts on January 1, 2013.
•The position is available on a fixed-term basis for up to 30 months with a possibility for an extension based on results.
•Travel expenses to participate in meetings, and a generous allowance for reagents /consumables guaranteed, with additional reagents from the Lab grants.; participation in interesting research in a well-harmonized team.
•We are offering a possibility to stay abroad (3 months).
•We appreciate flexibility and high working capacity.
•Teaching, tutoring, supervising, grant-seeking, and impacted scientific work will be required.

The research will be focused mainly on the following areas:
•Screening of a biologically active substance/extract/phytopreparation (on model reactions, mammalian cells and animal models).
•Application methods of molecular biology (eg. electrophoresis, western blot and immunodetection proteins, RT-PCR) and analytical chemistry HPLC, MS/LC.
