丹麦技术大学系统生物学系招收博士后
The Technical University of Denmark (DTU) is seeking a Postdoc for the Department of Systems Biology.
Job description
The overall goal of this project is to develop a rapid diagnostic platform for bacterial infections. Every year thousands of people die as a result of long timelines for correctly diagnosing bacterial infections in the hospital. The project offered is part of a larger project comprising hospitals and commercial entities that work together to improve clinical diagnostics with a particular focus on reducing time for diagnosis based on PNA FISH technology.
The project will focus on R&D related to a disposable microfluidic assay platform, including design of channel geometries, material selection, liquid reagent storage and delivery, surface chemistry and methods for dry reagent deposition. The Postdoc will work closely together with researchers at the Department for Nanotechnology at DTU, where state of the art micro- and nano- fabrication facilities are available.
The candidate will work in a research lab with diverse interests within the areas of antibiotic resistance, microbial evolution, human microbiome, and industrial biotechnology. The Sommer lab at DTU is studying the fundamental principles underlying microbial community structure and dynamics, with a focus on antibiotic resistance, the human microbiome and industrial biotechnology.
Qualifications
The candidates should have a PhD or equivalent in the natural sciences with outstanding results and publications from a leading research group. Overall a preferred applicant has an excellent academic track record, solid research experience and is highly motivated towards developing new technology and making scientific breakthroughs.
The candidate should have a proven track record within the fields of microfluidics, diagnostics, PNA chemistry, fluorescence in situ hybridization or fluid mechanics.
