We are looking for one highly motivated candidate, with PhD in cell biology, molecular biology or genetics to join our research group in the Development Neurobiology Unit at the GIGA-Neurosciences, Liège, Belgium (http://www.giga.ulg.ac.be/). A dynamic working environment, a competitive remuneration package, a stimulating scientific surrounding in a young, motivated team. To meet the increasing demands of performing multidisciplinary research, the GIGA offers Core facilities including imaging, molecular biology, proteomics/metabolomics, histology, aquatic facility (zebrafish), mouse facility, etc.
The position offered is part of the ongoing European FP7 health program technological approaches to combating sensory impairments and more precisely to study AF243 potency to prevent and/or treat sensorineural hearing loss (more details: http://cordis.europa.eu/projects/rcn/104171_en.html).
Our group uses a combination of genetic, molecular and cellular techniques to address the molecular mechanisms controlling the generation of hair cells and spiral ganglion neurons in the auditory portion of the mammalian inner ear in physiological and pathological conditions.
