美国纽约大学癌症研究所招聘博士后

2012-07-31 17:23 来源:未知 作者:admin

A postdoctoral position is available in the laboratory of Dr. Tomas Kirchhoff at NYU Cancer Institute in New York City. Research in the Kirchhoff lab focuses on understanding how inherited genetic variants lead to an increased susceptibility to cancer, with an ultimate goal of applying this knowledge to improved diagnosis and treatment of cancer.

We are currently seeking a talented molecular epidemiologist with a strong interest in combining the computational and molecular approaches in an effort of discovering and characterization of the genetic susceptibility to cancer. This will incorporate the latest advances in cancer genomics, including next-generation sequencing, to identify the causal variants for cancer susceptibility and the molecular strategies to further explore their biological effects.

In our team and institute we offer a highly motivated research environment with multidisciplinary training opportunities and state-of-the art genomic and molecular technologies.

The successful applicant will have a doctoral degree; a research experience in molecular
epidemiology/genetic or related areas.

Required skills include:

• background in epidemiology or biostatistics
• background in molecular biology techniques
• some experience with microarray technologies
• basic computational skills in analysis of large genomic datasets
• excellent communication and writing skills

Non-required but helpful skills include:

• mouse model technologies
• tissue culture techniques
• programming skills
• prior experience in statistical analysis

The salary compensation will depend on a level of expertise and will be assigned according to NYU School of Medicine regulations.

The position is available after September 1st 2012, and the applications will be accepted until the position is filled. Interested candidates should send a CV, cover letter and contact information for 3 references addressed to Tomas.Kirchhoff@nyumc.org.
