德国神经病学研究中心招聘博士后
The DZNE is a center of excellence within the Helmholtz Association that performs translational research on Neurodegenerative Diseases. The center includes eight high-performing sites in Bonn, Dresden, Göttingen, Magdeburg, Munich, Rostock/Greifswald, Tübingen and Witten.
Description: The Neurovascular Diseases Research Group (PI: Gabor Petzold) investigates pathomechanisms in mouse models of neurological diseases such as Alzheimer’s disease, vascular dementia, and stroke (Petzold et al., Neuron 2008; Stroke 2008; Nature Neurosci 2009). We are specifically looking for a candidate to work on pathomechanisms in mouse models of vascular and mixed dementia. This project involves established techniques such as in vivo imaging (two-photon microscopy and MRI), behavioral assessment, protein biochemistry, gene expression analysis, laser speckle and Doppler imaging, and constitutional and conditional mouse transgenics.
Qualification: We are looking for a highly motivated individual with a PhD, MD or MD/PhD degree, to join our group as a postdoctoral researcher. The applicant should be familiar with behavioral assessment techniques in mice. Expertise in biochemical and gene expression analysis tools, as well as a scientific background in (neuro-) immunology or blood flow/stroke research, would be beneficial, but are not absolutely required. Fluency in English, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work in a multicultural international environment are required.
For further information please contact Dr. Gabor Petzold (Gabor.Petzold@dzne.de).
Employment, payment and social benefits are determined by the Public Sector Collective Agreement (Tarifvertrag für den öffentlichen Dienst – TVöD). Job location is Bonn, Germany.
