巴黎第五大学招聘心理学方向博士后
Two postdoctoral research positions are available for 2+1 years in a project funded by the ERC (European Research Council). The positions are based at the Laboratoire Psychologie de la Perception (CNRS & Université Paris Descartes, http://lpp.psycho.univ-paris5.fr/person.php?name=FlorianW). Starting date: flexible between November 2012 and March 2013.
Research Focus: Humans carry out actions either in response to environmental demands, or independently of external input in order to achieve their goals. The latter type of action may be referred to as intention-based or voluntary. The project studies functional and neurophysiological underpinnings of voluntary actions along several axes (e.g., neural and functional mechanisms of voluntary action control, functional differences between voluntary and stimulus-based action control, mechanisms of action-effect learning). The project will approach these issues utilizing techniques from psychophysics (e.g., signal detection theory) and neurophysiology (EEG, fMRI).
We offer an international research environment where the candidates can continually add to their skills through involvement in different lines of research. Successful candidates will play a key role in designing / realising neuroscientific experiments and in preparing scientific publications (scientific articles and presentations at international conferences).
Requirement: Applicants should have a PhD in Psychology, Cognitive Science, Neuroscience or a related field. Candidates near to completion may also submit applications, indicating the expected date of completion.
Further requirements for successful candidates include:
- prior research experience in human cognitive psychology/neuroscience (see http://lpp.psycho.univ-paris5.fr/person.php?name=FlorianW)
- publications in scientific journals
- interest in the research field of action control
- strong statistical knowledge
- prior research experience with EEG (e.g., ERPs, Time-Frequency Analysis, BCI etc.) or modelling is mandatory!
- programming skills (e.g., MATLAB, eprime, python)
- excellent oral and written English language skills
The application must be supported by a Master's (or qualified equivalent) and PhD certificate, a CV, and a personal statement explaining the candidate's motivation. Names and email addresses of three academic referees willing to support the candidate's application are very welcome.
Applications are to be submitted in electronic format only and will be considered until the positions are assigned. We will start assessing applications as of September 21 2012.
