德国癌症研究中心血管性肿瘤方向招聘博士后
The German Cancer Research Center is the largest biomedical research institution in Germany. With more than 2,300 employees, we operate an extensive scientific program in the field of cancer research.
The Division of Vascular Oncology and Metastasis is seeking for September 2012 a
Postdoctoral Scientist (m/f)
(Ref-No. 138/2012)
Description:
Obesity and cardiovascular disease are leading causes of death and disability in developed nations. The biological roles of the lymphatic vascular network were considered distinct from those of the blood vasculature. However, recent findings provide strong evidence of direct correlations between lymphatic vessel function and obesity, arterial wall inflammation, atherosclerosis, and thrombosis. We aim at unravelling the role of the lymphatic vasculature in obesity and associated inflammation. We will use genetic mouse models to identify the cellular and molecular mechanisms underlying obesity and inflammation.
Your profile:
The successful candidate will have solid conceptual training and expertise in the field of vascular biology. Solid hands-on experience in cell and molecular biology will be essential. Experience in in vivo methodology in genetic mouse models is desirable. The candidate holds a PhD or equivalent degree and is able to pursue independent research. Although the initial appointment will be for a two year postdoctoral period, the position has career development potential with an extension up to six years. Thus, candidates just having completed their PhD training are invited to apply as much as more experienced postdoctoral scientists.
The position is limited for 2 years.
