Job Description
| A postdoctoral position is available immediately in the Department of Molecular, Cellular and Developmental Biology at the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor. Our lab studies the molecular organization of the Golgi apparatus and the biogenesis of this organelle during the cell cycle. In particular, we are interested in studying the proteins that help “glue” the cisternae together to form the unique stacked structure and the role played by ubiquitin in the generation of a Golgi during cell division. The work will provide a basic understanding of Golgi function in protein trafficking, inheritance during the cell cycle, and pathology in disease such as cancer and Alzheimer’s disease. The successful candidate should be a recent Ph.D. graduate with experience in cell biology, protein biochemistry, molecular biology, and light and electronic microscopy, with a record of creativity and scientific productivity.
