A fully funded industrial postdoctoral research position is available to carry out research focussed upon the design and commissioning of novel reactors and catalysts for the conversion of ethanol to high value chemicals. This position has been funded through Industry. The project is aimed at the formation of novel reactors and heterogeneous catalysts within the groups of Dr. Matthew D. Jones (Chemistry), Dr. Davide Mattia (Chemical Engineering) and Dr Pawel Plucinski (Chemical Engineering).

This is an exciting opportunity for a dynamic and motivated PDRA. This interdisciplinary and industrially relevant research project will involve coupling catalysts with reactor technology and involves close interactions with catalytic chemists and chemical engineers.

The post holder will have experience in reactor design and fabrication, heterogeneous catalysts and coupling catalysts with reactor technology; good organisational and presentation skills, and the ability to work well in an interdisciplinary environment. Experience of interaction with further academic and industrial partners would be desirable. The PDRA will be based in the Departments of Chemical Engineering and Chemistry at the University of Bath; and it is anticipated that the successful candidate will interact closely with the industrial sponsors.
