Postdoctoral Position at Medical School University of Patras
(Focus: Transplant Immunology)

A postdoctoral position is available immediately in the Bone Marrow Transplantation Research Laboratory (Head: Associate Prof. A. Spyridonidis) at the University Medical School of Patras (Greece). The position focuses in the development of innovative immunological treatment strategies after bone marrow transplantation and their clinical translation in the context of early clinical trials.
Candidates should have a recent PhD and/or MD and first author publications with focus in Immunology / Hematology. Requirements for this post include experience in immunology, in culture of human cells, in FACS analysis and in basic molecular biology techniques. Especially, the candidate should be familiar with methods of monitoring T-cell responses. Experience in GMP production, advance molecular techniques or clinical aspects of bone marrow transplantation are preferred. The successful applicant is expected to take charge of the scientific research projects under the guidance of the principal investigator. Exceptional organizational, interpersonal, communication and writing skills are therefore expected.
The salary compensation will depend on the level of expertise and will be assigned according to University of Patras (Research Committee) regulations. The successful candidate will be appointed for an initial period of 6 months, after which his performance will be evaluated. If the evaluation is positive, the contract will be extended by another 2.5 years or more.
