SFB35 Special Research Program ”Transmembrane transporters in Health and Disease” (www.sfb35.at)
Group Peter Chiba: A postdoctoral position is available immediately at the Institute of Medical Chemistry, Medical University of Vienna. The FWF funded project studies the role of membrane transporters in the pathophysiology of human diseases and the application of small molecule drug candidates for treatment of diseases associated with ABC transporter dysfunction. Applicants must hold a PhD degree with a strong background in molecular and cellular biology. Experience with confocal microscopy and mass spectrometry will be preferred. We are looking for highly motivated candidates, who have a keen interest or prior expertise in studying membrane proteins. Within the framework of a collaborative special research program we offer a highly interactive multidisciplinary research environment at the intersection of molecular, chemical and computational biology and biophysics focusing on the physiology and pathophysiology of membrane transporters and their role in human disease and pharmacotherapy. In order to take advantage of this environment we expect an explorative attitude, dedication and excellent verbal and written communication skills in English. The position will receive funding from the Austrian Science Fund for a period of 3 years.
