Postdoctoral Fellowship in Diabetes Research – Bioinformatics
The Unit of Molecular Metabolism at Lund University offers a 2-year postdoctoral fellowship at the Lund University Diabetes Centre in Malmö, Sweden. The centre hosts outstanding research on many aspects of diabetes – genetics of Type 2 Diabetes and islet biology are among the prioritized areas. The diabetes centre currently employs 280 people.

In the project, large data sets from metabolomics analysis of clonal cells, human islets and patient plasma will be analyzed by multivariate statistics. These will then be coupled with data from next generation sequencing, RNA seq and exome sequencing done in house or at external centers, with whom we collaborate. The aim is to create Systems Biology analyses of metabolic disorders.

The position requires a Ph.D. in a relevant area. Expertise in bioinformatics is necessary. Experience from islets and/or diabetes research is valued.
