Postdoctoral Research Assistant
Grade 7: Salary £29,249 – £35,938 p.a.

Applications are invited for a Postdoctoral Research Assistant to work under the supervision of Professor Carol V Robinson FRS. Research in the Robinson Group is directed at developing and applying novel gas-phase methods for understanding the molecular properties of protein assemblies, and thereby obtaining information complementary to traditional structural biology techniques.

The post involves the interrogation of the structure, dynamics, and ligand-binding properties of both soluble and membrane-associated protein assemblies. These studies will be based primarily on using advanced mass spectrometry approaches, but also offer the opportunity for structure modelling, protein preparation, and performing additional biophysical experiments.

Applicants should either already have a PhD in a relevant subject area, or have submitted their thesis prior to taking up the post. Experience in any of mass spectrometry, structural biology, proteomics, biophysics, molecular dynamics simulations, or molecular biology is necessary.

The position is funded for two years in the first instance by the Medical Research Council, with possible extension for a further three years. The post will be based in the Chemistry Research Laboratory, Mansfield Road, Oxford, OX1 3TA.
