A postdoctoral position, as well as several graduate student positions, are available in the laboratory of Daniel Attinger starting Spring or Summer 2011.Our research focus is on multiphase microfluidics. Our main interests are interfacial flow in microgeometries and single drop interactions with a solid wall. We explain and control these multiscale phenomena at the micro- and nanoscale level to develop innovative applications with relevance to society. Our research group also aims at cultivating a culture of collaboration and leadership. Our first three Ph.D. graduates are now Assistant Professor in research universities.

The postdoctoral scientist will lead and perform experimental research on the fluid mechanics of bloodstain pattern analysis, and/or transport phenomena during the evaporative self-assembly of nanoparticles. She/he should have strong analytical and experimental skills in fluid mechanics and transport phenomena.
