We are seeking to appoint two postdoctoral researchers within the Visualization and VR group at Leeds to work on multifield computational topology. These 3-year posts will develop a novel topological abstraction called the joint contour net into visualization tools that capture the relationships of multiple scalar fields derived from scientific and/or medical data. The work will involve extended collaboration with other leading international experts in visualization.You will have a PhD in computer science, and research experience in scientific or medical visualization, computer graphics, computational geometry and/or computational topology. Strong C/C++ programming skills are essential for one of the posts, and familiarity with software development using VTK or similar toolkits is highly desirable.The School of Computing is ranked in the top 10 computing departments in the UK based on the quality of its research (2008 Research Assessment Exercise); an impressive 80% of research activity rated as internationally excellent or World leading.
