美国亚利桑那州立大学生物化学博士后职位
job description
A postdoctoral position is available in the laboratory of Prof. Giovanna Ghirlanda at the Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry and the Center for Bioenergy and Photosynthesis at Arizona State University. The position is funded by the DOE EFR Center for Bio-Inspired Solar Fuel Cell Production (http://solarfuel.asu.edu/EFRC/index.html).
Our research program utilizes principles of de novo design and of protein engineering to design novel metalloproteins capable of catalyzing key reaction in the conversion of solar energy to fuel. In particular we are developing peptide-based analogs of the natural photosynthetic oxygen-evolving complex, artificial hydrogenases, and catalysts for reduced carbon fuel production. The group is part of an interdisciplinary team with expertise in crystallography, nanoscience, materials, photosynthesis, synthetic organic chemistry, and single-molecule spectroscopy.
We seek a motivated, independent scientist with a PhD in Chemistry or Biochemistry. The ideal candidate has extensive experience in solid phase peptide synthesis, particularly using microwave assisted methods. Experience in HPLC peptide purification and characterization, including spectroscopic methods such as UV-vis, fluorescence, and circular dichroism is requested. Experience with metalloproteins and electrochemical methods is highly desirable. An understanding of protein modeling and of structure analysis is a plus.
Please send by email a cover letter describing scientific interests and career goals, curriculum vitae, name and addresses of three references, to:
