Postdoctoral Researcher I.
If you are highly motivated and have interest in drug discovery research, we want you. You will join a team of dynamic and dedicated researchers in the new Molecular Biology and Drug Discovery laboratory that opened up at the University of Hawaii Cancer Center in Honolulu, HI. The focus of the laboratory is targeting the Janus kinase/Signal Transducer and Activator of Transcription (STAT) 3 and Src proteins for the discovery of new anticancer drugs. Research in the laboratory extends further to chemical biology, using small-molecule as probes to query biochemical and biological processes of relevance to cancer. You will get the unique opportunity to creatively explore natural products as sources of potentially novel and effective anticancer agents. The position requires training in molecular and cell biology and a drug discovery background. Individuals with experience working with laboratory animals are preferable. Expertise in protein engineering is desirable but not essential. Competitive salary will be commensurate with experience.
