美国哥伦比亚大学医学中心博士后招聘
job description
A postdoctoral fellowship is available to study the molecular and cellular bases of neurodegeneration in the pediatric neurological disorder, Glut-1 deficiency. Current projects involve using mouse models of the disease (Hum. Mol. Genet., 15: 1169) to 1) Determine the effect of restoring the protein, using viral vectors, on the phenotype of mutant animals and 2) Define strain-specific differences in the phenotype of the affected animals as a means to exploring the underlying biology and uncovering new molecular pathways that link reduced Glut-1 protein to neurodegeneration. Applicants must have a published track record in molecular genetics. Expertise in mouse neurobiology and gene therapy protocols is highly desirable. In addition candidates must be team players, demonstrate initiative and communicate effectively. The salary for the position is competitive and the academic research environment is internationally recognized as being among the best. A letter describing your research interests, CV and two letters of reference will constitute an application. Send information to Umrao R. Monani, PhD, 630 W. 168th St., Rm. 5-422, Columbia University Medical Center, New York, NY 10032 or to um2105@columbia.edu [Subject line: Attn: Dr. Umrao R. Monani –PF].
