The selected candidate will be funded by the Programme of German-lsraeli Project Cooperation, starting immediately in the Jiménez-Gómez lab. We use a mixture of bioinformatics and genetics to identify the molecular mechanisms responsible for natural variation in plants. The selected candidate will analyze next generation sequencing datasets to investigate the genetic basis of phenotypic variation between tomato and its wild relatives.

Candidates should have a strong background in bioinformatics and either plant genetics or molecular biology. We seek candidates with experience in the analysis of Next Generation Sequencing datasets, knowledge of a scripting language (Perl or Phyton) and statistics. Please abstain if these requirements are not met.
