The University of North Carolina Greensboro (UNCG), Joint School of Nanoscience and Nanoengineering (JSNN) seeks an individual to study the effect of nanomaterials on the immune system using various techniques in vitro and in vivo. Particular interest lies in developing, testing, and understanding the mechanism of novel nano-based therapeutics, diagnostics, and theranostics. Experiments revolve around cell biology and involve tissue culture, cell isolation, microscopy and biochemical and immunological techniques. Experience with nanotechnology/nanomedicine and mouse models of human disease is advantageous. Ideally, the person will have experience in the synthesis, extraction, and functionalization of nanomaterials-especially fullerenes. Salary commensurate with experience.
