Applications are invited from post-doctoral biological chemists to join a multidisciplinary project funded by the Cambridge Cancer Centre to develop tools to characterize the human methylproteome. The project is a collaboration between the Departments of Zoology (Dr Cath Green) and Chemistry (Prof. Chris Abell).
The successful candidate will design and synthesise tool compounds that will then be used to identify substrates for methyl transferases.
Applicants must have a PhD in Biological Chemistry with experience in synthetic organic chemistry. A track record of achievement exemplified by academic publications and/or industrial experience is essential. Experience in mammalian tissue culture and protein purification would be an advantage. Applicants will be expected to work closely and interactively with colleagues in different disciplines, to have excellent communication skills, and the ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines.
