Postdoctoral researcher in iron-sulfur protein biogenesis: A postdoctoral position is available at the Center for Plant Genomics and Biotechnology of the Technical University of Madrid. We are looking for a highly motivated and career-oriented postdoc with strong background in eukaryotic iron-sulfur cluster biosynthesis.

Job description: The project focuses on the expression of bacterial proteins in S. cerevisiae. It involves large-scale purification of oxygen-sensitive iron-sulfur proteins and characterization of their biochemical properties. Successful candidates will work with other postdoctoral fellows in a dynamic and international environment.

Candidate Requirements: Ph.D. in Biochemistry or related areas (Biological Sciences, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering). Experience in protein biochemistry and its application to one of these areas: metal-containing proteins, iron-sulfur protein biogenesis, and SAM-radical proteins. A demonstrated track in applying anaerobic techniques to study protein biochemistry is essential. Strong enthusiasm, energy and communications skills are required.

Conditions: Research contract of up to four years renewable on a year basis. Annual gross salary is 28.000-38.000 € according to profile and candidate(s) experience. Starting date: April 1, 2012 (or later by agreement).
