A post-doctoral position in computational biology is available in the lab of Dr. Andrea Sboner at Weill Cornell Medical College in New York City. Our research is focused on the development and application of computational and statistical tools for the identifications of the genomic and transcriptomic alterations that drive the development and progression of human diseases, such as cancer. The research involves the analysis of next-generation sequencing data and other types of high-throughput experimental data and their integration. The lab has close collaborations with experimentalists and clinicians at Weill Cornell as well as other institutions. These collaborations will increase the opportunity for the postdoc applicant to initiate new projects and take the lead on one or more of them. Highly motivated, research- and team-oriented candidates are encouraged to apply.

Requirements
A Ph.D (or equivalent) training in computational biology, bioinformatics, statistics, machine learning, algorithmic development as well as a detailed understanding of molecular biology and genetics. Prior experience in processing high-throughput sequencing data is strongly desired. Knowledge of programming languages (e.g. C, C++, perl, python, etc.) and statistical framework (e.g. R, matlab, etc.) is strongly advised.
