Job Description
POSTDOCTORAL POSITION
A post-doctoral position is available to participate in a new collaboration established between Dr. Shannon M. Wallet and Dr. David J. Culp of the University of Florida College of Dentistry. This new research program is centered on innate immune mechanisms used by oral epithelial cells in interactions with the oral microbiota under pathogenic and non-pathogenic conditions. Specific areas of interest include but are not limited to: bacterial interactions with cellular receptors such as toll-like receptors (TLRs) and membrane-associated mucins (MAMs); mechanisms controlling receptor expression; receptor co-operativity; intra- and inter-cellular signaling mechanisms and receptor mediated regulation of inflammation and homeostasis.
Applicants must posses a PhD where training in immunology, microbiology or biochemistry is preferred. This position will be supported by an NIH Training Fellowship, thus only applications from US citizens or US permanent residents will be considered.
