The successful candidate will have a PhD in Electrical/Electronic Engineering with a strong research record in modeling and simulation. Experience with Matlab/Simulink is essential. Experience with Verilog AMS is desirable. Experience with DDSMs and/or frequency synthesizers is desirable. Experience with nonlinear circuits and systems is desirable. Applications must include: 1. Description

Applications are invited for a post-doctoral researcher in circuits and systems in support of a major programme funded by Science Foundation Ireland to investigate the theory and applications of digital delta-sigma modulators (DDSM) in signal processing systems. As part of this project, we have developed a deep understanding of DDSMs, which has resulted in several papers, two patents, and a research monograph. We have also developed expertise in time-to-digital converters (TDCs) and all-digital phase-locked loops (ADPLLs). Over the next six months, we wish to hire two postdoctoral researchers to underpin these two major research areas: (i) theory, simulation and modeling of DDSMs and (ii) theory, simulation and modeling of ADPLLs. Applications for the first post are now open. The post holder will carry out state of the art research on DDSMs for applications in frequency synthesizers, oversampled DACs and power supplies.
