PostDoctoral Research Associate
The Department of Pharmacology at the University of Virginia seeks a motivated postdoctoral Research Associate to conduct research in the laboratory of Dr. Bimal Desai. The lab is focused on understanding the role of ion channels and Ca2+-signaling in the differentiation and homeostasis of hematopoietic cells. The incumbent designs, conducts and troubleshoots individual experiments in consultation with the PI and develops a directed research project exploring the role of TRP channels in the immune system, presents the findings during lab meetings and publishes the results in peer-reviewed journals.

Applicants must have a PhD in the biological sciences and 4-8 years of research experience. Proficiency in English and good communication skills are highly desirable. Preference will be given to those candidates who have training in either the study of ion channels or immunology and hold technical expertise in either patch clamp electrophysiology or molecular and cellular biology.
