We are looking for a postdoctoral researcher to join the Optical Frequency Comb Spectroscopy Group and work on the development and application of the technique for broadband ultrasensitive detection of molecular species in the gas phase. The appointment is for two years starting in April 2012 or later, the exact starting date being open for negotiation. The research will encompass development of spectroscopic detection systems based on a state-of-the-art optical frequency comb for molecules of importance in applications such as breath analysis, atmospheric and climate studies, industrial process control, and explosives detection.
The successful candidate should hold a PhD degree in experimental physics (or equivalent) preferably obtained less than three years ago. The candidate should also have experience in fields of laser spectroscopy, optics, electronics, vacuum systems, and/or gas analysis. A strong interest in instrumental development will be seen as an advantage. The applicant should be highly motivated and have the ability to work independently as well as a part of the research group. The candidate should be fluent in both verbal and written English.
