The faculty mentor for this position will be Dr.LAWRENCE T REITER. A Postdoctoral scientist position is available utilizing Drosophila for the study of human neurological disease. This exciting translational project involves proteomic and microarray screens in Drosophila to detect genes involved in the etiology of autism spectrum disorders and validation at the fly neuromuscular junction using both electrophysiology and imaging methods. Applicants should have a strong background in both molecular biology and genetics, but do not necessarily need experience in Drosophila genetics.
Qualifications: Qualifications include good written and oral skills in English, no more than two years post graduate training, and a desire to work on projects directly related to human neurological disease.
Salary will be commensurate with relevant experience and based on the prevailing wage for postdoctoral fellows set by the state of Tennessee Department of Labor.
