Job Description
The Chemical Sciences and Engineering Division at Argonne National Laboratory has immediate openings for postdoctoral fellows interested in applied actinide research. The research focuses on developing innovative pyrochemical technologies for the treatment of used nuclear fuel with the
goal of recovering actinides for use in advanced reactors and isolating the fission products for encapsulation in durable waste forms. Successful candidates should have a Ph.D. in a physical science (e.g., chemistry, physics) or engineering (e.g., chemical, nuclear, materials science) with a
strong background in thermodynamics and separations science. Demonstrated experience in electrochemistry or modeling and simulation of chemical separations is highly desirable.
Knowledge of high temperature chemical processes is desired. Experience working with molten salts and / or actinides in a glovebox environment is desired. U.S. citizenship is required for the postdoctoral position. Qualified applicants are invited to send a curriculum vitae, publication list, and contact information for three references through the Argonne website at http://www.anl.gov/jobs under job search for postdoctoral openings for requisition number 318177 CSE.
