A postdoctoral position in bone tissue engineering is available at UCLA School of Dentistry. The area of research focus is on the enhanced bone regeneration via controlled delivery of siRNA molecules and osteoinductive growth factors. This research will contribute to the development of novel therapeutics to enhance the repair of bone defects. Fellows are expected to interact with an interdisciplinary team of investigators, with experts in biomedical engineering, polymer chemistry, molecular, cell and developmental biology, orthopedic surgery, animal study and transplantation, etc.

Qualifications:

Postdoctoral applicants should have completed a PhD in biomedical engineering, biology, or a related field. A strong background in gene therapy, stem cell differentiation, biomaterial design, and bone tissue engineering is required. Applicants must have strong experience in protein and gene delivery, molecular biology and biochemical techniques, cell isolation and culture. Experience in non-viral gene delivery, scaffold fabrication, or the use of animal models is desired.
