美国南达科他大学招聘生物信息学博士后

Job Description
Bioinformatics Postdoctoral Researcher

Candidates should have earned a Ph.D. in bioinformatics/computer science/molecular biology, be highly motivated and have extensive knowledge and experience with automated bioinformatic analytic tools.

A Ph.D. in bioinformatics or molecular biology is required. ABD's will be considered if there is clear evidence that completion of the doctorate is imminent prior to assuming the position. Applicants must have an interest in teaching and possess excellent communication skills.

The associate in this position will design and present one four-to-five-day Bioinformatics workshop each summer of the grant's funding period. These workshops will be available to faculty and graduate students at USD, as well as faculty at partner institutions, and will be offered to the INBRE Undergraduate Research Fellows. In addition to the workshops, the associate will be asked to work with partner institutions in identifying how they might assist in Bioinformatics education. We consider this position as good preparation for someone interested in teaching at an undergraduate institution. The applicant will be asked to assist in the design and implementation of Bioinformatic workflows to be created with the BioExtract Server. The BioExtract Server (http://bioextract.org) is a Web-based data integration application designed to consolidate, analyze, and serve data from heterogeneous biomolecular databases in the form of a mash-up. The basic operations of the BioExtract Server allow researchers, via their Web browsers, to: specify data sources, flexibly query data sources, apply analytic tools, download result sets, and store query results for later use.

Applicants must apply online at https://yourfuture.sdbor.edu. Application must include the following: CV, letter describing your interest in the position, statement of teaching philosophy, statement of research interests, and names, addresses, telephone numbers, and email addresses for at least three professional references. Additional application materials may also be mailed to:
