A postdoctoral position is available at the University of Rochester Medical Center (URMC). The aim of the research project is to develop therapeutic measures to target Barrett’s esophagus and esophageal adenocarcinoma by understanding stem cell biology. Our research focuses on the cellular and molecular mechanisms by which stem cells respond to environmental insults. We use both mouse genetics models and in vitro assays to address these issues. In vitro techniques used include human and mouse esophageal stem cell isolation, culturing, sorting and transduction.

We are seeking highly motivated researchers who have completed their doctoral programs. Experience in molecular biology, cell biology is required, and experience with in vivo animal models will be a plus. The candidate should have an excellent command of spoken and written English.
