Job Description
The University of Illinois College of Medicine has a Postdoctoral Research Associate position open for an Dept. of Defense-funded project investigating the effects of pesticides and stress on synaptic plasticity paradigms in a mouse model of neuroinflammation. Studies will assess paired-pulse and high frequency-induced responses in hippocampal field potentials in vivo in animals at multiple time points over an extended period. The project will also evaluate pharmacological approaches to therapy. Other lab projects include an NIH-funded project investigating the effects of chronic developmental manganese exposure on CNS dopaminergic/glutamatergic function in a rat model, and investigation of the role of neurotrophins in endocrine disruptor exposure models. Candidates should have a strong background in neurophysiology and neuroscience, preferably with experience in in vivo monitoring of extracellular neurotransmitters. Salary is based on experience.
