In the Nuplex Innovation Center in Wageningen, we have an opening for a
Post-Doctoral Position

to work on novel innovative water borne products, their preparation, characterization and the relation with their application performance.
The laboratories of the Nuplex Innovation Center in Wageningen (The Netherlands) play a central role in supporting the global business of Nuplex, as well as its product development centers, with in-depth research into the fundamentals of our products and their applications, and in exploring new technology concepts aimed at introducing next generation products in the field of resins for coatings and composites applications, to maximize performance and environmental friendliness of our products.

Responsibilities
In this position, you will be responsible for initiating, contributing to and leading new
projects aimed at longer-term innovations in water-borne technology. As a professional, we expect you to provide an interface with the academic world on one side (scouting, cooperation), and with the application laboratories of Nuplex and its customers on the other side, as well as play a general active role
in suggesting technology solutions within the Nuplex R&D community. You are also expected to actively participate in promoting Nuplex technology at conferences, and to contribute to its protection through patent applications. Creativity, communication and team-player skills are considered essential for success in this position. The post-doc position will be defined for the duration of three years, and will report to the Manager Chemistry Laboratory NIC.

Competencies required:
- PhD level education in organic, polymer or colloid chemistry, with affinity for and practical experience on the preparative side
-able to combine organic/polymer chemistry core expertise with good working knowledge of colloid, physical and analytical chemistry
- actively interested in new developments in the world of academic as well as industrial chemistry
- creative as well as practical, result-oriented, able to scout independently for new technology leads and to apply them within the limits imposed by industrial markets
- able to effectively use internal and external knowledge networks
- multi-tasking, being able to flexibly work on multiple parallel projects
- basic experience in coatings-related research is an advantage
- very good communication skills, fluent in English
-team-player: able to motivate and constructively interact with colleagues
