Job Description
A Postdoctoral position is available to study the mechanisms of cell signaling in breast cancer development and progression. Our laboratory focuses on the role of autophagy in breast cancer and other developmental and disease processes, and tyrosine kinase signaling in the regulation of mammary cancer stem cells, cancer metastasis, and embryonic and tumor angiogenesis. We use a variety of genetically engineered mouse models combined with cell culture and cancer tissues from human patients to gain insight into the regulation of intracellular signaling in vivo in disease processes such as tumor initiation, progression, metastasis and tumor angiogenesis.
The Division of Molecular Medicine and Genetics in the University of Michigan Medical School provides a dynamic, interactive and supportive environment. Please visit http://sitemaker.umich.edu/guanlaboratory/home for more information on our laboratory and the outstanding research training environments for postdoctoral fellows and associates. We are interested in recruiting self-motivated, recent Ph.D. or M.D./Ph.D. graduates with the drive to succeed and the desire to be competitive at the highest level. Candidates with a strong background in cell and molecular biology, cancer research, and/or vascular biology are encouraged to apply. Experience in signal transduction, autophagy, stem cells, and mouse models of cancer or other diseases will be a plus.
Please email your curriculum vitae, a short statement of research interest, and the names and contact information of three references to: Jun-Lin Guan, Ph.D. Professor, Dept of Internal Medicine-Division of Molecular Medicine and Genetics, 109 Zina Pitcher Place, 3027 BSRB, The University of Michigan Medical School, Ann Arbor, MI 48109.
