Job Description
We are seeking postdoctoral researchers who want to apply image processing, computer vision, and visualization to important new applications in biomedical imaging in the biomedical imaging group at Case Western Reserve University. This is a great opportunity for someone well versed in computer processing techniques to join a team, learn leading edge applications, and apply their knowledge immediately. We use MRI, CT, OCT, electron microscopy, and cryo-imaging. For example, our group has recently created a whole mouse cryo-imaging system which gives 100+GB, micron-scale images of a whole mouse with single cell sensitivity for fluorescently labeled cells. Similarly sized images are obtained with new electron microscopy techniques utilizing a 3D tissue removal and image technique. There are a multitude of exciting new applications in stem cells, cancer, nano-drug delivery, viral infection, assessment of disease, etc. The successful applicant should have a strong desire to publish and assist in grant proposal creation. We are principally seeking post doctoral researchers with a Ph.D. in computer science, biomedical engineering, or electrical engineering and experience in image analysis.
Applicants should send an email stating research interests, curriculum vitae, and contact information for at least three references to Dr. Wilson.
Our laboratory is in the Departments of Biomedical Engineering and Radiology at Case Western Reserve University. We perform experiments in the state-of-the-art Case Small Animal Imaging Resource Center which houses MRI, PET, optical, CT, and SPECT imaging devices. In employment, as in education, Case Western Reserve University is committed to Equal Opportunity and World Class Diversity.
