POSTDOCTORAL POSITION

A postdoctoral position is available immediately in the laboratory of Windy Dean-Colomb in the Oncologic Sciences Program at the University of South Alabama Mitchell Cancer Institute (USAMCI), in the area of basic science and translational research. The USAMCI is a new flagship facility with state of the art proteomics, genomics and microscopy core labs. It is ideally located in Mobile, AL, a progress, mid-sized city situated along the Gulf coastal region, with a rich cultural history and a college-town atmosphere, all which contribute to a high quality-of-life atmosphere.

This is a post-graduate entry-level position in which the individual is responsible for assisting with research activities as well as conducting independent research projects. The emphasis of the laboratory is identifying novel diagnostic and therapeutic molecular targets of cancer and investigating the molecular mechanism of metastasis. Highly motivated candidates with strong hands-on experience in cell/molecular biology, cell culture and the use murine models of cancer are encouraged to apply. Bioinformatics skills are desired, but not required. The candidate should be self-motivated, committed to team-oriented scientific research, and possess excellent verbal and written skills.
