The institute of Systems and Synthetic Biology (iSSB) has an immediate postdoctoral opening in the field of chemoinformatics/bioinformatics.

The institute is part of Genopole, a consortium of leading research academic and private laboratories in genomics, post-genomics and related sciences. The job location is in Evry, 35 km south of Paris, 30 min by suburban train.

Job Description: The position awardee (1 year renewable) will be responsible for developing chemical fingerprints and kernel methods to characterize and design novel metabolic reactions. The successful candidate will join an interdisciplinary team of chemists, computational, and molecular biologists, working on a metabolic engineering project funded by Genopole, the French National Scientific Research Center (CNRS) and the French National Research funding Agency (ANR). Qualifications: The successful candidate will have a recent Ph.D. in computer science, chemical or biological sciences with a background in chemoinformatics and/or bioinformatics. Required qualifications include experience in one or more of the following areas: chemical fingerprints, ligand-based virtual screening, kernel methods, reaction kinetics, or flux analysis.

Excellent programming skills, experience with software project development, strong collaborative skills and ability to work and communicate in a team environment are essential.
