Description
The Department of Chemical and Materials Engineering at The University of Kentucky is accepting applications for a postdoctoral researcher. The successful candidate will explore novel approaches in polymeric biomaterials towards the treatment of hematologic diseases. The metrics of this position will include monomer and polymer synthesis, interfacial modification, and evaluation of biocompatibility and transport behavior. This interdisciplinary project will build upon existing collaborations with both the University of Kentucky and University of Colorado Medical Centers.

Additional positions exist in the lab for US citizens/permanent residents with interest in polymeric biomaterials.

Responsibilities
• Independently drive research with minimal supervision towards publication in peer reviewed journals, grant applications, and presentation at scientific meetings

Desired Qualifications
• PhD in Chemical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Chemistry or related field
• Experience in immunofluorescent methods
• Experience in polymer synthesis and characterization
• Strong publication record
• Excellent communications skills
