Post-Doctoral Positions Available in Systems-based Viral Innate Immunology

Multiple post-doctoral positions are available within the Chanda Laboratory at Sanford-Burnham Medical Research Institute located in La Jolla, CA. Research focus will involve employing systems-based approaches toward the elucidation of novel host and innate regulatory cellular factors that underlie viral infection (influenza, Dengue, West Nile, & HIV). Approaches will exploit large-scale global genomics technologies, including genome-wide RNAi analysis and affinity purification-mass spectrometry, to understand these critical host-pathogen interactions (see Konig et al. 2008 Cell; Konig et al. 2010, Nature; Bandyopadhyay et al. 2010 Nat Methods; and Teo et al. 2010 Nat Cell Biol).

We are seeking highly motivated individuals with a PhD/MD in molecular and/or cellular biology, biochemistry, and expertise in molecular virology or innate immune signaling. A working knowledge of bioinformatics and systems-based analyses is preferred, but not required. We are interested in candidates who intend to pursue a career in biomedical research and who are capable of working independently and collaboratively within the group.
