Postdoctoral Scientist
£26,022 to £27,623 per annum

Applications are invited for a three year Postdoctoral Scientist in the laboratory of Dr K.J Patel at the MRC Laboratory of Molecular Biology (http://www2.mrc-lmb.cam.ac.uk/groups/kjp/). The postholder will be involved in a programme of research that aims to uncover the molecular function of the Fanconi anaemia (FA) tumour suppressor pathway. The project builds on recent published work from this laboratory that involves using model organisms to elucidate sources of endogenous DNA damage (Xhang et al PLOS Genetics. 5 (9), Crossan et al Nature Genetics 43:147-52, Langevin et al Nature in press).

Candidates should have a PhD in a biological subject or due to complete doctoral studies within six months of applying. We are particularly interested in applicants with a strong interest in genetic physiology, chemistry of nucleic of acids and metabolism, or/and previous experience with model organisms such as mice or dictyostelium.

You will be awarded a three year Career Development Fellowship. This is a training and development position for a postdoctoral scientist who has recently completed their doctoral studies or is moving into a new research discipline.
