The University of Sydney Postdoctoral Fellowships in Mechanics, Biomedical Engineering and Materials (悉尼大学博士后研究员).

You are invited to apply for a The University of Sydney Postdoctoral Fellowship if you received your PhD no earlier than January 2005 and have an outstanding publication track record in Mechanics, Biomedical Engineering, Materials and Structures.

Founded in 1850 as the first university in Australia, The University of Sydney locates in one of the most beautiful cities in the world and has been a world class research university (ranked No. 36) ( http://www.usyd.edu.au/internationaloffice/student/languages/chinesetraditional.shtml). This highly competitive internationally and extremely prestigious fellowship aims to attract outstanding external full-time researchers to work at the University for three years. A salary (taxable) will be provided at Level A8 of the University’s Academic salary scale, including a taxable base salary of A$80,950 per year (equivalent to US$73,622 per year or RMB498,683 per year, as of the exchange rate on 10 August 2010) plus leave loading and up to 17% employer’s contribution to superannuation. The successful applicants and the family can apply for a permanent resident (green card) in Australia with full medical care benefit.

Prof Qing Li’s group has been recently focusing on computational mechanics, topology optimization, micro/nano structured materials, metamaterials, dental biomechanics, biomechanical design of cardiologic stents, scaffold mechanics and design optimization, etc. The candidates in these or close areas are encouraged to submit the updated Curriculum Vitae (resume) including the publication list to Qing.Li@Sydney.edu.au by 31 August 2010.
