Job Description
POSITION: Postdoctoral fellow
IMMEDIATE SUPERVISOR: Principal Investigator

The principal investigator is a medical oncologist and physician scientist with funding from the National Institutes of Health (PN1), private industry and philanthropy.
The laboratory primarily employs both human tissue and other samples taken from tissue rich clinical trials, small animal (mouse) models using antiangiogenic agents, and in vitro experiments. The ideal candidate will have experience investigating endothelial biology, and have experience with human tumor xenografts. The candidate should also be proficient in molecular and cellular biology techniques, particularly those that relate to the study of intracellular signaling pathways, receptor biology, and tissue analysis, preferably with multispectral image analysis tools.
This position requires a driven and motivated individual. The candidate should welcome the challenge of exploring new techniques and new ideas relating to tumor biology.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
• Hypothesis generation and experimental planning
• Comprehensive understanding and review of relevant literature
• Analysis of in vivo murine models of angiogenic therapy resistance
• Analysis of human tissue from patients treated with antiangiogenic agents
• Flow cytometry
• Study of cell signaling
• Western blotting
• Immunohistochemistry and ideally have experience with multispectral tissue analysis systems including Ariol and Vectra
• Cloning
• Cell culture
• Quantitative RT-PCR
• Preparation of figures and drafts of manuscripts for publication
