Job Title: Postdoctoral Position in Cancer Cell and Molecular Biology
Job Number: 4009476
Date Posted: 06/21/2011
Job Description
The Kalin laboratory is interested in the transcriptional regulation of carcinogenesis. We use mouse cancer models to gain insight into regulation of cell signaling pathways required for tumor initiation, progression, metastasis and tumor angiogenesis. New knowledge is applied to gain insight into progression of lung cancer, prostate cancer and rhabdomyosarcomas. The laboratory has identified several transcriptional pathways critical for carcinogenesis. The ultimate goal of our research program is to identify novel target genes for diagnosis, prevention and treatment of human cancers. The current opening will include projects to elucidate the role of Foxf1 and SPDEF transcription factors in carcinogenesis, using transgenic mice, cell culture, and cancer tissues from human patients.
The Division of Pulmonary Biology provides a high-energy, dynamic, and interactive environment. We are interested in recruiting self-motivated individuals with the drive to succeed and the desire to be competitive at the international level. Candidates with a strong background in molecular biology, transcription factor biology, cancer biology, cellular biology, informatics, and/or signal transduction are encouraged to apply.
