Job Description
The John Curtin School of Medical Research (Canberra, Australia) has a strong research activity and a distinguished history in Immunology, Genomics, and Microbiology and is investing in a new department with the aim of translating recent fundamental discoveries in basic immunology into treating and preventing major infectious diseases.
Two new tenured faculty positions will form part of a vibrant, well-resourced, multidisciplinary biomedical research environment with highly complementary fundamental and translational activities.
You will join a strongly collegial work environment within the School that emphasises and encourages high-level and highly relevant science and translational research.
The positions offer a salary in the range indicated below and generous start-up funds and laboratory space within state of the art laboratories of the new John Curtin School of Medical Research. You will have access to numerous core facilities with cutting edge genomic and proteomic technology including highly developed capacity for massively parallel sequencing and bioinformatic analysis. Extensive and modern PC-2 and PC-3 containment facilities are also available for handling infectious agents and infected rodents.
To succeed in this role you will have an exceptional international research profile in the fields of Infectious Diseases or Immunity relevant to pathogenesis, this can include the interface of pathogens, immunity and cancer. You will also have an excellent publication output including recent papers in high-impact journals and a highly competitive funding record.
